June 21, 2024: East Coast Datacom, Inc., a manufacturing specialist in Network Latency Emulator appliances announces software enhancements for the Wanraptor™ Network Emulator for Multi-User Access levels. 

The WanRaptor Network Emulator currently supports a single 'admin' user. With this new feature, the 'admin' will have access to a new page, called Admin Panel, where new non-admin users can be defined and managed. Non-admin users can login to the test instrument and use all its current features as usual but cannot access the Admin Panel.

Differentiated permissions

With this new feature, the admin will be able to differentiate what the users are authorized to do on the Network latency emulator. Based on the client requirements, the permission scheme can be made more or less powerful, with the tradeoff that a more powerful scheme is usually more complex.

Examples of Multi-User Access levels use cases could be:

 - Allowing view/edit/start/stop access to only a certain set of latency emulations
 - Denying permission to create new latency emulations
 - Denying permission to see latency emulation statistics
